‘Virtual museum’ – an online exhibition
(1 of 5)

Interdisciplinary co-operation:
Hildegund Peters (arts, mathematics)
project course of linking grades 9 and 10

Advised by:
Dr. Thomas Winkler, IMIS, University of Luebeck

Intention:
The project intended to develop a virtual online museum on the bases of real physical objects.
It aimed to reflect the relationship between real objects and environments of the physical world on the one hand and digital (virtual) objects and environments in museums on the other hand. The idea was to create a virtual, interactive 3D Internet museum which included elements of the real physical world and could be inspected together. Furthermore, the project was concerned with the conversion of real objects in virtual objects and their digital manipulation and involvement in digital processes.
